Dianna Dahlgren Returns as Miss Supercross for the 2013 Monster Energy Supercross Season

Ten Original SX Ed Webisodes Featuring Miss Supercross to Begin Airing July 25^th

AURORA, Ill. (July 17, 2012) – Feld Motor Sports^® announced today that Dianna Dahlgren will return as Miss Supercross during the 2013 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, season that begins January 5 at Anaheim’s Angel Stadium.

The 2013 Monster Energy Supercross Championship will mark Dahlgren’s third season in the Miss Supercross role. A fan favorite, Dahlgren will serve as the sport’s spokes model and pit reporter and she will interact with the fans during the entire 2013 Monster Energy Supercross season.

“It means the world to me to have the opportunity to once again serve as Miss Supercross, and I want to thank Feld Motor Sports for bringing me back for the third year,” said Dahlgren. “The last two Monster Energy Supercross seasons have been amazing, and heading into 2013, it appears that we may see the sport’s deepest field of completion ever.”

In addition to her responsibilities as Miss Supercross, she has enjoyed success on the IFBB circuit as a Pro Bikini Competitor. As a multi-time competition winner, she finished third in the Olympia, which is the sport’s most prestigious event, featuring an international line up of competitors.

To celebrate Dahlgren’s Miss Supercross return, she will be joining two-time defending Monster Energy Supercross Champion Ryan Villopoto to throw out the first pitch at Angel Stadium, home of the opening race of the 2013 Monster Energy Supercross season, before the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim take on the Texas Rangers on Sunday, July 22 at 5:00 p.m. PT.

Las Vegas Supercross Lites Shootout – Report

Barcia again grabs the Nuclear Cowboys holeshot with Davalos right in tow. Tomac who now has the number one plate on his bike is running in third on the rear wheel of Davalos. One lap later Wilson, who had a bad start, finds himself flying off the track and trying to keep himself from hitting the deck. Roczen, your last years shootout winner, has now worked his way into the fourth place spot and pushed to catch up to the top 3.

Barcia makes a mistake and can’t jump the finish line. This causes Davalos to get right up on Barcia. Davalos hitting the back section runs Barcia wide and gets the pass for the lead. Now it just turned into a three-way battle for the lead, with Roczen coming up quick.

Barcia who is under some serious pressure from his teammate some how finds a way to get an inch on the leader Martin Davalos. They go triple triple triple, and Barcia slides up the inside causing Davalos to screw up letting both Geico Honda riders by.

This is where the race starts to get interesting as Barcia and Tomac start to push the pace from the rest. It comes with a price as both riders are starting to make some risky moves, and it brings mistakes and close calls. As there battles go on, another one is erupting behind them with Roczen receiving some serious pressure from his teammate Musquin. This causes a three-way battle for third, but in the end nothing changes and Barcia gets the win with his team mate in tow. Davalos will come in third, Roczen right behind him in fourth followed by Musquin in fifth. Full results by clicking here.

Barcia gains the Nuclear Cowboys Holeshot and takes the win but not without a few slip-ups and battling with his teammate for first most of the race.

Tomac third right off the gate is in tow on Davalos for a while until Barcia makes a mistake and Davalos slips by for first position but looses position to Tomac and Barcia.

Not a good night for Wilson, with a bad start and flying off the track giving him 11th place over all in the shootout.

Just like the teammates Barcia and Tomac battling for first position Musquin battling with Roczen for fourth but Musquin could not keep the momentum to take the position from Roczen.

Davalos stuck between two team battles managing to hold Roczen off keeping third to get a spot on the podium.

Las Vegas Supercross Class – Report

Alessi grabs another one of his patented holeshots, not far behind is Dungey on his Red Bull KTM. Dungey doesn’t waste any time and takes the pass for the lead, not to long after Metcalfe does the same. Alessi thinks he can make a move and goes for a block pass and the only thing that happens is Alessi looses the position right back. Weimer notices the dead fish in the water and makes quick work of Alessi a section later in the whoops.

Through all the commotion Millsaps is making his way from a mid-pack start and a close call with a tuff block. Next thing you know Millsaps is barking all over Weimer and Metcalfe. Wiemer makes the pass on Metcalfe and so does Millsaps.

Millsaps is on fire and the only one making this race exciting to watch while he is trying to work Weimer as if he is a safe and Millsaps is the thief. After multiple attempts Millsaps cracks the safe and takes over second place.

Quietly behind them Brayton is cruising by all the same exact riders and setting his sites on Weimer, who is running in third now. Lap after lap Brayton hunts his prey and finally at the end of lap 14 he is rewarded with a mistake from Weimer and makes a block pass to take over third place.

Five laps later and Dungey grabs himself another win to finish up the 2012 Monster Energy Supercross series. Millsaps will go on to finish in second with Brayton in third and Weimer in fourth.

Alessi not only gets the Nuclear Cowboyz Holeshot but pulls away extremely quick but was unable to hold up for even one lap and quickly got pushed back few positions.

Millsaps Pushing from the center of the pack all the way up to second position having to deal with close calls with tough blocks and other riders pulls of 2nd place.

Weimer with a decent start moved from fourth to second for a few laps until Millsaps was hot on his tail and eventually pushed him back to fourth position and Metcalfe battling him for fourth position but Weimer was stronger in the end.

Brayton coming all the way from 9th position pushing through all the way up third pushing Metcalfe and Weimer out of the chance for third position.

Dungey staying in first position all twenty laps with a safe distance away didn’t really have anything to worry about except where to put his first place trophy.

Las Vegas Supercross West Lites – Report

The Nuclear Cowboy’s holeshot goes to Eli Tomac, your 2012 Lites West Coast champ. Martin Davalos in the second spot, with his Rockstar Suzuki teammate Jason Anderson. Right behind them is a pack of spread with Marvin Musquin, Dean Wilson and Will Hahn. Before the second lap can finish Wilson makes the pass on Musquin and takes over the fourth position.

Anderson isn’t waiting either and puts an aggressive pass on his team mate for the second position, but it only goes backwards a lap later. Anderson a few laps later messes up and can’t jump the triple and has to go double single. This gives room for Davalos to fly overhead and slam the door, back for the second position he just lost. Wilson sees this and puts a pass just moments later for the third position.

Anderson, who is slowly going backwards, takes Musquin into the bails. Around lap eight Wilson puts the moves on Davalos on the same back triple that Anderson started his campange backwards at. In closing laps Hahn is starting to creep and it pays off with a pass on Davalos for the third position.

In the end it was an all Tomac show as he would go on to take another win, Wilson would take second and Will Hahn rounding off the box. Get the full results by clicking here

Las Vegas Supercross East Lites – Report

Right as the last firework blasted off so does the start of the East main. Justin Barcia on Geico Honda grabbed the Nuclear Cowboys holeshot. Baggett in second, Roczen third, Stewart fourth. Roczen makes quick work of Baggett and makes the pass before the first lap is completed. It looks like make he is pulling in on Barcia half way through the second lap, but as the third lap rolls around Barcia starts to pull back away. Now Baggett sets his sights on passing Roczen back and is hounding him like a dog on a bone.

The race starts to spread as they his five laps. Barcia really pulling away from Roczen who is holding down a strong second as Baggett has seemed to back off a little bit. Lap nine roles around and Barcia gets some big wheel spin right before the triple and has to go double, which is a ripple effect and makes him go double double for the rest of the section. Roczen see’s this and puts the hammer down, comes with in striking distance. One lap later Roczen gets caught up on a lapper and looses all the ground he just made up on Barcia.

With a clear track in front of him for the closing laps; Barcia your 2012 East champ goes on to show us why he really is the best and grabs another win in the 2012 series. Roczen will hold on to second, with Baggett rolling his wheels over the finish line in third. Get the full results by clicking here.

Salt Lake Supercross Class – Photo Report

The top three right out front from the start.

Ryan Dungey the man with a plan had a rough start but moved up into third position to battle for second position with Weimer going back and forth causing Weimer to get a little close which pushed Dungey into the tough block causing him to go down and immediately get back up and catch Weimer and pass him for second and pull away to catch up with Millsaps who got caught up with a lapped rider letting Dungey by for first place.

David Millsaps: Out front form the start but slipped up half way through by getting caught up with a lapped rider and let Dungey by for first but overall had a good night.

Weimer and Dungey went at it most of the race Weimer being aggressive holding a tight line keeping Dungey right behind him it wasn’t long till Dungey found an opening and took it.

Brett Metcalfe defiantly not having the night he wanted getting tangled up with a few riders and few slips ups putting him in last position.

Mike Alessi and Justin Brayton went at all night for 4th postion Alessi just could not seem to hold his line letting bryton in for fourth place.

Grant and Bowers bar to bar for a few laps for 8th position until Grant pulled away and Kiniry got between them to push Bowers back to 10th.

Salt Lake Supercross Lites – Photo Report

Top three of the lites class Tomac, Anderson and Davalos all over the place right off the gate.

Musquin right behind Anderson for the hole shot and Davalos right behind waiting for Musquin to go wide so he could take the inside for third position.

Play By Play: First lap in Vince Friese “Whiskey Tangoed” Whiskey throttled through the third turn in causing his rear tire to slip out and while falling he never let go of the bike. He bounced right back up in 16 and moved back up to take 9th place over all.

Dean Wilson doing really well up until mid race when coming through the whoops up to the Monster energy finish line when the front end of the bike dropped out at the end of the whoops causing him to slam into the Finish line jump causing him to DNF the race.

Team mates Anderson and Davalos side by side for allot of the lites main Anderson came in to get 2nd place and team mate Davalos following right behind for 3rd.

Preston Tilford had a pretty good night holding a consistent strong pace all the way through the lites main event.

Tomac coming from 4th position to to 1st position for the last four laps to take the win making him the lites class points leader by 27 points.

Seattle Supercross Class – Report

Round 15 Monster Energy Supercross – Supercross Class – Seattle, WA

Defiantly not what anyone expected from Ryan Villopoto with home advantage. Ryan had a bad start and could not move through the pack causing him to go down in the first lap looked to be getting up slow to get back on the bike but that was not the case, it looked like a possible knee injury we will know more later. With Villopoto out it was any riders race and Short took advantage of the situation by pulling away to a safe distance to take first for his first Career win. With Short so far ahead Roczen and Weimer battled for second for the first few laps, Roczen was not gonna let it happen and started to pull away to hold second all the way to the checkered flag. A little further back in the pack Dungey on his first ride back from previous injuries had a little spill and went from eighth to seventh to battle Alessi for sixth position.

Roczen put a wheel in on Shorty early into the race, but Short stayed up front and held on for his first Supercross class victory of his career.

It was a welome sight to see Ryan Dungey back out there, and he looked fast and solid as always aside from a not so Dungey-like tipover mid-race.

Jake Weimer held off the Brayton/Millsaps train to hold onto a podium finish. Can he bring it to the next round and have two good weekends in a row?

Alessi found himself the fastest qualifier from the days practice and carried that momentum to the main for a seventh place finish. This year has been a definite night and day improvement over last years Supercross campaign. You can bet he is excited to take it back outdoors come May.

Davi Millsaps held on for fifth, enough to keep his second place in the point standings by 3 points. Will he hold on to second in points next weekend?

The ever so important start. Villopoto found himself buried near tenth or so on the first lap, and crashed trying to make moves in a corner. Holeshot went to Short, who then went on to win. It is so overstated yet so true how important it is to grab that start.

Seattle Supercross Lites Class – Report

Round 15 Monster Energy Supercross – Supercross Lites Class – Seattle, WA

If there was any race to keep you on your toes it was this one. Right off the gate Dean Wilson gets the Nuclear Cowboyz holeshot to immediately have the lead taken away by Sipes. Sipes pulled away to a safe distance away while Dean Wilson and Eli Tomac battled for second, with Dean Wilson pushing Eli Tomac off the track and Tomac coming back on the inside one lap later to take Dean out for second Position pushing Dean back to seventh position. Tomac was doing good up until the the end when he slipped up and let Musquin by for second. After the dust settled Ryan Sipes would take the chekers, Tomac held a podium position, Wilson had to settle for a disappointing seventh and loses his points lead, along with the red plate. Four points now seperate the two and the West Lites title looks to be at a boiling point.

Wilson and Tomac were definitely not holding back tonight in their battle. Championship points are important, and this was no night to make friends on the track.

They say rubbin’ is racing, and every pass between the two seemed to have a little contact. Tomac would soon after connect with Wilson resulting in Wilson going down. Next round should be interesting to say the least!

Seely had a somewhat quiet night with most of the mayhem happening to others, finishing a solid fourth. He is still not far off championship contention sitting third in points.

Marvin Musquin landed himself a spot on the box after a late in the race pass on Tomac. Great ride for the number 38.
