Almost Here – SX 2012

Five more days and the 2012 Monster Energy Supercross series will kick off in Anaheim California at the famous Angle Stadium. A1 is the kick off of the season, the first round; the start to what might be the most competitive years in Supercross history. Four past champions, six main event winners and a whole lot of pride on the line.

Stewart on his new JGR Yamaha, Villopoto trying to defend his 2011 championship, Dungey looking to give KTM it’s first Supercross class win and AMA championship and Reed coming in off of an impressive 2011. Who’s going to come out with the first round win in the Supercross class?

The Supercross Lites West class is shaping up with some pre season injuries causing some riders to change coasts. Ken Roczen who was a title contender is now out with a broken left wrist. Another fellow KTM rider PJ Larsen would go on to break his hand, moving him to the East coast. The final and hopefully last one is Geico’s Jimmy Decotis, last years fill in rider for injured Will Hahn, is now our with two broken ankles.

Cole Seely was dark horse in 2011 and grab a win, who will be the 2012 dark horse?

Eli Tomac is a shoe in as a title contender on the West coast this year after losing the title on the last lap in Vegas last year. Davalos was really fast last year, setting the fastest lap time at a few rounds in qualifying. Where will he fall this year? Cunningham had tons of speed last year, but just couldn’t keep it on two wheels. If he can stay off the ground this he might be a strong title contender. In the end which PC rider will be up in the battle for a title?

A1 should be a great showing of who has been using the off-season to work hard and if changes ups are better than staying the same. Either way I will see you at Round 1!
